Cracker

J.J. is really funny in his high-chair. He always leans to one side, usually his right. I have tried everything to prop him up and "center" him, but no matter what, he always manages to get himself all sideways. I have given him crackers a couple times now and every time he stares at them like they are the strangest things. And he always acts totally freaked out by the taste after his first bite...

Cracker time!

The first bite always gets him...

See what I mean?!?!

But now he's into it and can really get comfy in his chair...

J.J. Update

Little J.J. is the most wonderful baby in the entire world. At 5 months old, he's as peaceful and content as he was during those blissful, sleeply first couple days after his birth. From day one, he's been a dream-child. We love him so much and he just gets cuter every day with all of the amazing new tricks he's learning and the increasing ways in which he interacts with us. He's constantly smiling and laughing, though this is diffcult to document via photo as when he smiles, he simultaneously sticks his finger in his mouth. When he really smiles and laughs, he wiggles his entire body and bobbles his head all around...it's the sweetest thing, but you should see me moving all around trying to get a good photo! Here are a couple to give you an idea of what I'm talking about...

Smile with finger in mouth

Laugh...you can tell he's mid-wiggle, what you can't tell is that his feet are kicking like crazy too!

Laughing and shaking
Yesterday we were at the park and I decided I'd try the little guy in the swing. He absolutely loved it. He just laughed and laughed like it the was funniest thing he's ever done...come to think of it...it just may be!

Happy Father's Day

Here are a couple of photos that we took for our Father's Day project I thought you may all like to see. These three kids have the coolest dad around...except for my dad, of course.
We were lucky enough this year to be able to spend Father's Day morning with both of them as my mom and dad were in town for the weekend. We missed you, Tussy, and sure hope that you'll come visit us this summer!

Little J.J. was getting a little nervous about this whole thing...

Here's a great photo of my dad, Joe and my husband...We love you guys!

Rice Cereal

This morning I was so excited to give little J.J. "solids" for the first time. Although Ally was quick to point out, "But mom, he can't open his mouth," I was certain that he'd love this new phenomenon...Ally certainly did. She was a champion eater from day one, at the age of 3.5 months. J.J.'s first meal was a little different...

"Uh, mom, why are you putting stuff in my mouth?"
"No, really mom, why?"
"Now wait a minute, I kinda like it..."

"Yeah...not bad!"

After a couple spoon-fulls of rice cereal, he had had enough. I wiped him off and lifted him out of the high-chair...then he promptly threw-up all that he had managed to take in.

Ally and Tommy

Sadly, Ally's best buddy in the neighborhood moved away last weekend.

Tommy, Jonathan and Sara (Tommy's parents) have become some of our best friends over the past two years. Although we will certainly see them again as they have only moved to the suburbs, it had become somewhat of a ritual that Tommy and Jonathan would come over around 5:30pm once or twice a week. Ally was always so excited to see Tommy and would run down to open the door for them. If the weather permitted, we would all then head to the park. We had some great nights together.

Here are a couple photos of Ally and Tommy over the years...

Ally and Tommy playing at our house...they like to be really close to one another.

Ally and Tommy at the park this spring...yes, that is the same Tigger costume from 2007. I try to hide it and Ally always finds it!

For their last night in the city Jonathan, Sara and Tommy came over for dinner. Beforehand Ally and I went to Target to get a couple more planters for the deck. Ally needed some larger underwear so I bought her her first set of princess undies. We had barely walked in the door when Ally took off her shoes, pants and present undies so that she could get into her news ones. She thought it best to wear ALL of them at the same time, with no pants, so that she could show Tommy.

Even though some were backwards and some only used one leg-hole, she did manage to get all six pairs on.

Her next item of business was to put all of the drinks away, thank you Ally.

Ally and Tommy had a great time with their bubble blowers...I told Jay to only take photos waist-up for Ally, but as you can see, she still has no pants on.

J.J. was his normal, happy self.

We had a great time that night but were sad to see it end as we know we will not be seeing as much of our friends this summer as we would like. Today there was a little boy in the office (Andy D.'s son) and Ally came in the back door, saw him from a distance, and yelled "TOMMY!" It was really sweet.

We miss you guys and think about you often. Give Tommy a big hug from all of us. We hope to see you soon!
